Sales of Toyoda’s ultra-compact “C+pod” electric car have started in full force in Japan. Until recently it was sold only to corporate customers, but now anyone can buy an electric car for about $14,400-$15,000. This is according to the official website of the Japanese brand.
Toyota’s two-seat electric car for the miniature two-seat electric car measures 2,490 mm in length, 1,290 mm in width and 1,550 mm in height.
The electric car has been designed for a diverse group of daily users who frequently travel short distances with few passengers. This could be young, single, novice drivers or older people who are unnerved by the large size of the vehicle.
The electric car is equipped with a 9 kW⋅h lithium-ion battery that offers 150 km of range (WLTC). The peak power of the electric motor is only 9.2 kW with 56 N⋅m of torque and allows a top speed of 60 km/h.
