New Holland Agriculture and the Italian design agency Pininfarina have developed a concept for a new portable electric tractor for orchards and vineyards.

The machine was created with wine-growing regions such as Champagne and Médoc in mind. There, local farmers grow grapes on slopes in rows less than 1.5 m wide.

The first images published in New Holland show (when viewed from the front) that the concept is shaped like a champagne glass: long and wide body lines at the top and tapering at the bottom. According to the developers, such a design, together with the rounded glass provides the operator with excellent visibility.

New Holland does not disclose the technical characteristics of the novelty, but it can be seen that the dimensions of the tractor can vary, which gives it a variety of applications in agriculture. In the cab to the right of the steering wheel is a screen with machine data. The radio and climate control in the cabin are controlled on the touch screen in the upper right corner.

The windshield is inextricably linked to the door. And to make access to the cabin as comfortable as possible, the seat automatically swivels toward the door when the cabin is opened. The connection with wine and champagne is also captured in the design of the cabin interior, especially in the floor and roof. The use of wood gives the interior a luxurious look and makes a reference to the wood of wine barrels.

The manufacturer says that according to the so-called green energy leadership strategy, the concept was designed for use with electric engines. The technique combines a high level of comfort and safety. It is not yet reported when the innovative tractor will be released.
