According to Musk, a flat roof on a van with a large enough area would make sense to use solar energy to power the electric car.

This is quite an interesting statement, given that Musk is quite skeptical about “solar” technology in electric cars.

In the interview, Musk hinted at some kind of folding system that would be used to charge the van while it is standing still. In other words, we’re talking about something similar to a functional canopy that charges the electric vehicle on one side and provides shade on the other.

Of course, this is just an idea at this stage, but if it is so seriously interested in Musk, it is quite possible to expect its real implementation.
