Lexus has released two more images of the upcoming Electrified SUV, following the release of new photos of the RZ 450e electric crossover. A number of upcoming electric vehicles from Lexus and parent company Toyota were shown in December 2021, along with two prototypes. Not much is known about the Lexus electric SUV, other than that it appears to be larger than the RZ and shares design features with the latter. The electric SUV has the same design as the Lexus – spindle-shaped grille, sleek headlights, SUV-style bumper, and a long hood that drops down to the front.
The electrified Lexus SUV features bulging door handles, muscular fenders, and taillights that extend far into the rear fender. It’s an attractive SUV, though it’s likely to undergo changes on its way to production. The brand’s first electric car built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, the RZ 450e, will be fully introduced this spring. The model will have the same platform as the Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra.
Toyota and Lexus plan to sell 30 electric cars by the end of the decade, an ambitious goal, but far from impossible thanks to the Japanese company’s industrial strength. At a preview event late last year, Lexus showed four existing prototypes – the RZ, an electrified SUV, an electrified sedan, and an electrified sports concept. According to speculation, the next model after the RZ 450e should be an electric SUV.
